Generating Assets
Robert Jessee is vice president, Generating Assets, Appalachian Power Company (APCo). He is responsible for overall operations, maintenance, continuous improvement, and the safety culture for APCo's generating assets. He also has a role in financial, reporting and regulatory activities related to the generation of power. APCo's generating facilities include John Amos, Clinch River, Dresden and Mountaineer plants. Jessee also has similar responsibilities for Mitchell Plant, which is jointly-owned by APCo and Kentucky Power Company. As vice president, Generating Assets, he also has responsibility for the company's hydro operations, which include Claytor and Smith Mountain.
Jessee previously was managing director, Generating Assets I&M and Kentucky Power, overseeing the generating assets in Indiana, Michigan, and Kentucky. He started his career as a plant engineer at Clinch River Plant. He has served as plant manager at Waterford, Gavin, Clinch River, and Rockport plants.
Jessee holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech and completed several AEP leadership programs.
