In central Appalachia, where community spirit thrives, Appalachian Power (APCo) proudly partners with the Appalachia Service Project (ASP). Since 1969, ASP has dedicated itself to making homes warmer, safer and drier for families in need. Our collaboration with ASP has already made a significant impact through various home repair projects across West Virginia, Virginia and Tennessee, and we are committed to building on this partnership in the future.
APCo has provided vital support to ASP through financial grants, volunteer days and supplies for various projects. This summer, APCo provided breakfast and snacks for volunteers working in southern West Virginia and has plans to assist ASP with future projects in Virginia later this year.
Brad Hall, vice president of external affairs, emphasizes the importance of this mission.
“As a proud resident of Appalachia, I am deeply committed to supporting Appalachia Service Project in its essential work to improve housing conditions for families in Virginia, Tennessee and West Virginia. By enhancing housing quality, we create valuable energy efficiency opportunities that empower families to reduce their energy costs and create safer living spaces.”
Together, we will continue to uplift our communities, ensuring that every project we undertake fosters hope and resilience for those we serve.
